A new, shared commercial kitchen in Sherman Park will support aspiring entrepreneurs.
Dubbed “UpStart Kitchen,” the commercially-certified kitchen would provide the necessary equipment and support to serve as an incubator for food entrepreneurs. Access to a commercial kitchen is required to be able to sell or serve food, but the availability of affordable commercial kitchens is often a stumbling block for Milwaukee food entrepreneurs.
The kitchen, to be owned and operated by Prism Economic Development Corporation, will be open to anyone, with “priority pricing” for City of Milwaukee residents. The organization has an intentional focus on supporting low-to-moderate income entrepreneurs to address socioeconomic and racial disparities in Milwaukee.
