In 2016, Bader Philanthropies made a groundbreaking decision to return to its central city roots in announcing the relocation of its global headquarters to the Harambee neighborhood which is located on the northside of Milwaukee between North Avenue and Capitol Drive (North to South) and Holton Street to Interstate 43 (East to West).

Since then, the Foundation has been planting its roots by attending neighborhood events such as Juneteenth Day; welcoming Martin Luther King Elementary school students back to school; and hosting “Chat with Bader” gatherings to meet neighbors, who have been living in the neighborhood for several years or decades.  Our Harambee neighbors and community partners have shed a bright light on the neighborhood’s history and culture; as well as the challenges and opportunities before us.
